European Heritage Days 2024
From 20 to 22 September 2024, take part in the European Heritage Days at the Musée du Pays Châtillonnais- Trésor de Vix!
The museum will be free to all on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September, giving you a chance to (re)discover the various collections and the temporary exhibitions on display: "Archéocapsule: Male/Female" (until 31 September); "Aux sabres citoyens" (until 30 December) and "Voyage" par Emmanuel Michel (extended until 22 September).
On Friday, September 20th, Jacques Lacroix, Professor and Doctor of Letters and Civilisation at the University of Burgundy, and a specialist in the language and civilization of the Celts, will be giving a talk on the Vix torque and its symbolism. This lecture will be free and limited to 50 persons, so bookings are strongly recommended by calling 03 58 95 80 11 - accueil@musee-chatillonnais.fr. Please note that this talk will be given in French only.
This weekend will also be an opportunity to meet artist Emmanuel Michel, who presents his work from the ‘Voyage’ exhibition. Given the great success of the artist's paintings, sculptures, and drawings, the exhibition has been extended until 22 September. On Saturday 21 September from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm and on Sunday 22September from 10 am to 5 pm, you will have the opportunity to talk to the artist about his career, his travels, and his works, to have your books signed (on sale in the shop) or simply to (re)discover the exhibition.
The museum will also broadcast Arthur Michel's film ‘Tambapanni’, retracing Emmanuel Michel's artistic journey during his trip to Sri Lanka and back to his studio near Toulouse. There will be three sessions: Saturday 21 September at 3 pm and Sunday 22 September at 11 am and 3 pm. Each session is limited to 50 people, and the individual ticket price is €2.
