The Vix Vase: Behind the Scenes of Its Restoration!

On Thursday 15 and Friday 16 October 2026, the Musée du Pays Châtillonnais – Trésor de Vix will welcome restorers working on the famous Vix Crater.

During these two days, access to the Vix Treasure Room will be partially restricted. However, rest assured: the objects on display will remain visible, and the museum will be open as usual.

This special intervention is also a unique opportunity to discover the fascinating work behind the scenes. You will be able to watch the restorers at work, observe their techniques and learn more about the expertise required to preserve this remarkable heritage.
