Workshop : creation of Ukrainian freco
Every Wednesday in November, the museum offers workshops in the creation of Ukrainian frescoes using the Petrykivka technique. Accompanied by the artist Mariia Matokhniuk, whose works are currently on show in the exhibition ‘Art of Life: Encounter between Two Countries’, you will discover this Ukrainian art form, recognised as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO since 2013. One example of these fresco, creating by Vinca, Mariia Matokhniuk's association is displayed in the exhibition.
The workshop takes place in two parts:
- in the morning, from 10am to 12pm, making plaster and laying tiles.
- In the afternoon, from 2pm to 4pm, the tiles are decorated using the Petrykivka technique to create the fresco.
These workshops are free and open to all, but children under 9 must be accompanied.
