Mariia Matokhniuk
Masha Klepko Matokhniuk was born in 1978 in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. She lives and works in Châtillon-sur-Seine. Since 2018, thanks to her icon teacher Marie Aveline, Masha has devoted herself to painting through Orthodox icon classes.
She is an accomplished artist who works with oil and acrylic paint on canvas and has a background in engineering.
She uses ancient painting methods and enriches her work with natural pigments, gesso creation, and real gold gilding. Her works explore the inner world of women through the symbolism of clouds and Orthodox icons, reflecting her Ukrainian roots.
Her art subtly expresses a range of feminine emotions, creating a timeless window on the female soul that is both freedom and will.
Her work is regularly exhibited in the region and sold worldwide.
