European Night of Museums

Join us at the Musée du Pays Châtillonnais - Trésor de Vix on Saturday, May 17th, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM for the Night of Museums! During this event, the museum will feature screenings of short films in the galleries. Artist Malo A., the animal painter who created the artwork for the “De plumes et d'Or” exhibition, will be present to discuss her techniques, inspirations, and career path. She will also show a video summarizing her work.

On the Program :

• Malo A., Feathers and Gold – Malaurie Auliac

Discover the artistic world of Malaurie Auliac through a film showcasing the various stages in the creation of her paintings. The artist will be present at the museum to meet visitors and answer their questions.

• The Lady of Vix and Her Curious Herbal Teapot – INA

In the gallery dedicated to the Treasure of Vix, view a documentary originally broadcast on October 20, 1978, revisiting the remarkable discovery of the Vix krater in 1953—a landmark event in French archaeology.

• At the Heart of the Douix – Sébastien Coote

Join a team of speleologists as they dive into the underground waters of the Douix spring in Châtillon-sur-Seine, in a captivating and immersive film experience.

• Excavations at the Vertault Site: 150 Years of History – Departmental Archives of Côte-d'Or

Through archival documents dating from 1946 to 1995, explore the history of archaeological research at the Vertault site and learn about the individuals who contributed to unveiling its rich heritage over the past 150 years.

• The Magic Lantern – Museum of Cinema in Europe and the World

Among the objects belonging to Marshal Marmont on display at the museum is a small magic lantern. Regarded as a precursor to the modern cinema projector, the magic lantern was used for over two centuries to project images—ranging from fairy tales to scientific lectures—onto walls and screens.

These films will be screened continuously during the evening.
